PRINCIPLE:
Superproximal anchoring with the advantage of low bone resection with a cement-free, non-modular implant.
ADVANTAGES:
– Minimal bone resection
– Calcare support
– Torque-controlled implantation (no hammering!)
– Helical structure offers optimal conditions for osseous integration
by increasing the surface area
– Manageable size spectrum without the need for left-
/ Right variants (low stock!)
– Instruments: clear instruments (1 tray)
– Simple revision by screw mechanism
– No extracortical prosthetic components laterally
– Rotation-proof design
– Biocompatible titanium alloy with a bioactive coating (BONIT ®) to improve
Osteointegration (optional)
– Two available Instrumentenvariants and surgical techniques, conventional/ minimally invasive
– Physiological bone elasticity no reinforcement of an elastic region
– 12 years experience / first Implantation: February 2001
The Spiron ® prosthesis reaches the realization of biomechanical ideals closer than any other prosthesis:
The lamellar structure provides a prosthesis body with a large surface area and low volume. It is provided a large surface area for the increase of bone, but due to minimal volume is much spongiosa obtained.
The fit to the bone is inherently perfect, the Spiron® prosthesis is its own grater. Currently the excised bone is immediately placed in the grooves of the prosthesis. The volumes are calculated so that the bone is compressed during insertion defined.
The Osseointegrationssurface area of the prosthesis is in comparison to a size by a factor of 2.65 same cone greater, compared to a conventional shaft prosthesis by 1.3.
Since it is a physiological force with a prosthesis can not give, the goal must be to realize the force proximally as possible.
Advantages of Short stems:
Bone-saving –
good revision capabilities –
lower stiffening of the femur –
At the femoral neck preserving
Spiron ® prosthesis added the following advantages:
minimal bone loss –
excellent revision possibilities –
very little pain and rapid rehabilitation –
almost no stiffening of the proximal Femursegments –
Utilization of the natural rotational stability of the femur –
